(Anti-Malaria)
Description

The malarial
fevers have been indetified as a distinct clinical condition
in Ayurveda from ancient times. The treatment of this diseases
has been discussed in detail. In view of wide prevalence of
malaria in India. CCRS has developed a herbal anti-malarial
preparation. Four known anti-pyretic Ayurvedic drugs have been
selected and put together to form a combination as an anti-malarial.
This has been named as MALARAL
by Central
Council for Research in Ayurveda and Siddha (CCRAS).
Process of Preparation :
The following ingredients constitute this preparation:

The above ingredients are maxied together, made
into tablets of 500 mg. Each along with some adhesives like
starch & gum acacia etc.
Clinical
Studies:
CCRAS has conducted clinical studies
in several parts of the country, including a limited use in
the recent out break of malaria in Rajasthan with promising
results.
The
dose recommended:
(A) For treatment (both p.v. And p.f.)
Adult: 2 gm. Three times a day for 5-7 days in divided doses.
4 tablets of 500 mg. each three times a day for 5-7 days.
Children between 5-12 years: 1 gm. Three times a day for 5-7
days 2 tablets of 500 mg. Each three times a day for 5-7 days
Infants and Children below 5 years: ½ gm. Three times
a day for 5-7 days. 1 tablet of 500 mg. Each three times a
day powered amd
mixed with honey.05
(B)
For prevention:
Adult: 2 tablets of 500 mg. Twice daily for 7 days.
Children 5-12 years: 1 tablet of 500 mg. Twice daily for 7
days.
Infants and children below 5 years: ½ tablets of 500
mg. Powdered and mixed with honey twice a day for 7 days.
Note: Treating physician can chages the dosage and duration
on the basis of his clinical assessment.

Side benefits:
The drug is also known to be effective
in other types of fevers & filarial lymphangitis. The
medicine in useful in improve the function of liver.

Side effects:
No untoward
side effects/toxic effects have been observed.
